BOTOX® COSMETIC PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY

Dr. Joseph Mazza and Dr. Sharma explain that, in the “right” hands, the BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment process is a relatively easy procedure that produces natural looking results.  However, in the “wrong” hands you may see uneven results and possibly incur damage to your delicate facial nerves.  It is important to have BOTOX® Cosmetic injected carefully and in the precise amounts as BOTOX® Cosmetic restricts muscles from moving by blocking the nerve impulses to the treated muscles. BOTOX® Cosmetic is safe and FDA approved for cosmetic treatments.

You will see modest results right away, but BOTOX® Cosmetic continues to work to smooth your wrinkles for several weeks.  It takes about two weeks for the initial results to be noticeable and show marked improvements in your facial contours.  The effects last about three to four months.

BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments are not painful, but typically a numbing cream can be administrated before treatment to insure that you are totally comfortable.  Treatment lasts about 15 minutes, and you can go back to your normal daily activities immediately.

Some side effects have been reported at the injection site, including mild headache.  You should not use BOTOX® Cosmetic if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
